"Our People, Our Place"

"Our People, Our Place"

“This exhibit has been a long time in the making,” museum director Sandy Cohen said. “It includes photos and artifacts from the museum’s collection that interpret many themes in our community’s history, from Chinese miners and Native Americans through pioneers and early business people to PUDs, manufacturing, retail and media today.” “Our People, Our Place” includes several hands-on activities related to historical themes including a juggling station near the Wenatchee Youth Circus display, adjusting and looking through a spyglass at the steamboat station, and trying out a stethoscope next to the doctor’s office. Period clothing, the interior of a pioneer kitchen, and a general store stocked with 1900s-era merchandise also add to the authenticity of the exhibit, Cohen said.
