GWATA WELCOMES NEW PRESIDENT RON BROWN AND  MARKETING & EVENTS COORDINATOR BECCA FREIMUTH

GWATA announced the appointment of Ron Brown as the President of its Board of Directors effective January 1st. Ron steps into this role after Dan Paquette, who was President 2015-2016 and will be a GWATA Advisor going forward.
 
Ron is the Director of Instructional Technology for the Wenatchee School District. He has been with the Wenatchee School District for more than 20 years and has held his current position since 2010.
 
“I personally am thrilled to have been part of the GWATA team for the past several years and look forward to a year leading this exceptional non-profit,” Ron said about his appointment as President. “With the addition of Jenny Rojanasthien as our full time Executive Director and a community ready to benefit from our efforts I see a very bright future for GWATA and it's membership.  I happily call this valley home and I am thrilled to get the opportunity to make it even better with GWATA’s help.  We have a passionate, committed board and a wonderful membership base to help our efforts.  2017 will be a fantastic year for your Technology Alliance.”
 
In addition to Ron’s new role, we are pleased to introduce Becca Freimuth, with Intuitions Media, as our new Marketing and Events Coordinator. Becca will work with Executive Director, Jenny Rojanasthien, to continue to grow GWATA’s online presence and coordinate a number of community events.
 
“GWATA is such a strong force in our community, and I am excited to jump on board with a wonderful team,” Becca said. “There are some exciting things in GWATA’s future and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
 
GWATA's Board of Directors also includes: Stacy Luckensmeyer (GWATA Vice President), Wenatchee Valley College; Pete Phillips (GWATA Secretary), North Central ESD; Brandon Burke, GTC Technical Support; Robert Pageler, Confluence Heath; Larry Cramer, LocalTel; Scott Ptolemy, WebGuidz; Rodney Dye, Stemilt; and Reene Parkins, Firefly.
 
GWATA Advisors include: Dan Paquette, Key Methods; Jim Huffman, Port of Douglas County; Laura Jaecks, Port of Chelan/CTC; Jenny Rickel, Native Network; Lisa Karstetter, Yahoo!; and Bert Holeton, The Mastermind Group.
 
GWATA’s upcoming events include “Tech Talk and Happy Hour” at Badger Mountain Brewing on March 2nd at 4:30 pm and the Annual “Innovator Awards Luncheon” at the Wenatchee Convention Center on March 30th at 11:30 am.
