Pierce County Incident Management Team Activated to Chelan and Douglas Counties

Wenatchee, WA – At the request of Chelan-Douglas Health District the Pierce County Type 3 All-Hazards Incident Management Team (PCAHIMT) has been activated to manage the COVID-19 response for Chelan and Douglas counties. The Incident Management Team (IMT) is made up from local agencies that include fire, police, emergency management, health district, public works, and school district personnel who have extensive training in managing large scale or complex incidents. Washington State Department of Health will be paying for the team’s time during their deployment here.
The mission of the team is to “lower the amount of COVID-19 in the population by using data, testing, case management, community outreach, and prevention strategies” with the purpose of “saving lives, reducing harm to the community, reducing the strain on healthcare resources, and allowing the strategic reopening of the jurisdiction to promote economic and social recovery.”
PCIMT Incident Commander John Unfred said “On behalf of the team, we are excited to be here to assist and relieve the outstanding professionals of the Chelan-Douglas Health District who have been working non-stop since March. Our team is energized to work with CDHD and the community during these trying times to reduce COVID spread and get businesses safely re-opened”
