Wenatchee River Institute hosts Science on Tap! Lamprey on Wed., Nov. 6, 6-7pm, at 509 Bierwerks, 200 S. Columbia St. in Wenatchee. Pacific Lamprey are delightfully bizarre eel-like fish. Native to the mid and lower Columbia River, this ancient species is among the most primitive of all vertebrates, dating back 450 million years! Learn more about the amazing lamprey and their decline in population from Mid-Columbia Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office fish biologists, Ann Grote and Barbara Kelly Ringel. During the event, exciting items will be raffled –only $1 per ticket– to raise money for Wenatchee River Institute youth and adult programs connecting people, communities and the natural world. Come out to 509 Bierwerks on Nov. 6th and get your science on!
