“Prepare Your Business for the Unexpected” is the theme of this year’s Summit. Can your business bounce back from the impact of an earthquake, fire or severe weather storm? Does your business continuity plan include redundancy strategies to ensure your business can continue operation in the case of a power outage or phone interruption? Tristan Allen with the Washington Emergency Management Division will address these issues and present a step-by-step business continuity planning workshop, including how to prepare and respond to unforeseen natural and man-made disasters. Michael Ballingall and Simone Carlysle-Smith from the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association will present the Route 97 annual report, and provide a special update on business resiliency strategies used in the Thompson Okanagan area during the recent fires. The Summit is in collaboration with the Washington Emergency Management Division, the Washington Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network, Washington State Department of Commerce and our Canadian partners from the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association.
