TAMING OUR TRIGGERS AN INTRODUCTION TO NONVIOLENT COMMUNICATION A workshop presented by Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center (WVDRC) This workshop offers a basic introduction into some of the core components of the Nonviolent Communication (NVC) model. NVC provides us with a way to communicate in ways that are in alignment with our values; connect with and express what is alive in ourselves and others; hear difficult messages without taking them personally; and inspire joyful giving from the heart. Participants will receive an overview of NVC concepts and principals; review and practice the NVC process; and practice empathy. Light refreshments provided. Cost - $55 Workshop Facilitator: Bob Mark, Upper Valley MEND Bob was first introduced to NVC in the fall of 2000. Since that time, he has maintained a passion for learning and practicing NVC, occasionally traveling to various parts of the country for workshops and trainings, including Nashville, Santa Cruz, Portland, and Seattle. In 2015 Bob participated in one of The Center For Nonviolent Communication’s International Intensive Trainings (IIT’s), which offers a 9-day NVC immersion opportunity. This experience motivated him to start up an NVC practice group in Leavenworth. Bob has been inspired by the practice of NVC and is eager to share this practice in the hopes of creating a more peaceful and cooperative world.
