At the turn of the century, the Mathison family planted their first fruit trees atop their Stemilt Hill homestead, igniting a tradition that has thrived for five generations. Now, world-class fruit growers, Kyle and Jan Mathison apply their Sidon and passion into their role as vintners. Completely personal, the Mathisons are undivided in their attention to every stage of the growing process, touching the life of each grape from the soil to the lips.

For the past 35 years, the fertile and abundant Columbia Valley has provided our family with a living. We’ve raised fruit trees, cattle, and four strong boys — truly the good life. Deeply familiar with our rich soil and unique climate, we knew the next chapter of our life had to be wine.
Our wine making philosophy is simple — let it be. We start with the very best grapes and gently encourage them to express their character. Distinctive, and never overworked, our wines reflect the complex full-bodied richness of the renowned Columbia Valley terroir.
We proudly present our third vintage for your consideration. We had a lot of fun making it and hope that you, our friends, will enjoy it.
Fall tasting Hours: Friday 3pm-6pm; Saturday 12-6pm; any other day – by appointment only

We think of enjoying wine at Tunnel Hill as a bit of a homecoming. A chance to settle down. Calm the mind. Quiet those feet. A chance to return to what is right before us: spectacular estate grown Syrah, Pinot Noir, Riesling. Immaculate grounds and historic architecture. Friendly faces, dog and kid friendly spaces. A chance to breathe. A return to the senses.
Wine at Tunnel Hill is at once simple and profound.
Come! Pay us a visit. You will enjoy yourself.
It is interesting to contemplate the complexity of wine. Soil, water, heat, cold, wind, leaves, shoots, canes, fruit, brix, acid, harvest, crush, fermentation, aging, oak, label, foil and cork all contribute to the flavor and body of wine. More than a drink, more than refreshment, it is an experience, a journey.
A well-built wine, like a pool, reflects life. A sip reveals the wonder of the process from youthful to aged.
Martin-Scott Winery, located in East Wenatchee, Washington, is a marriage of our best efforts and assets. We feature small quantities of handcrafted wines. The fruit comes from our home vineyard in East Wenatchee, high on a bluff, south-facing, above the Columbia River and from grapes grown in the prime grape growing region of the Columbia Valley in South Central Washington State near Mattawa. The Olympic and Cascade Mountains provide a barrier to coastal precipitation leaving an average rainfall of 8 inches per year. With this dry, desert condition, plant vigor, canopy and fruit quality can be successfully controlled. Sudden Falls beckon the plants into dormancy and winter cold inhibits pests, thus encouraging integrated pest management and modest use of chemicals.

’37 Cellars Winery came about when Chuck and I (Frank), two brother-in-laws, decided that we wanted to make our own ultra-premium, hand-crafted wine so that we could enjoy more of it, and share it with friends. After a couple of years of doing this, our passion and desire to make more wine and make it available to other people, led to the formation of a new Washington State winery called ’37 Cellars. This has something to do with guitars, just sayin’. Our wines can be tasted at The Chamber Tasting Room in downtown Wenatchee located at 1 S Wenatchee Avenue. 509.662 2116.
