Ribbon Cuttings
We love celebrating our members! It's an honor to be a part of your day and we will do everything in our power to ensure it is a smooth, enjoyable event.
Ribbon Cutting Events are free for Chamber Members who are a new business or highlighting a new location within 6 months or opening. If your celebration does not fit within those guidelines, we also host Busi-versary events for a minimal fee which are for milestone anniversaries.
Your ribbon cutting should be scheduled many weeks in advance with a Chamber staff member. This lead time is critical to getting key volunteers and city official to attend. Events can be scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm. The Chamber schedules a maximum of two celebratory events per month.
The most successful ribbon cuttings are those where the business has sent personal invitations to their network, family, friends, business partners, elected officials, etc. Sharing details about your event on your social media outlets and website are also great ways to bolster attendance. You can also consider partnering with another business to help cross promote.
The Chamber will announce your event in our monthly publications, post to our online calendar and create an event on social media including your page as a co-host.
The best location to cut the ribbon is in front of an elevated sign, door or wall that has your company name or logo.
Think about who you would like to be in the photo with you. The business owner or manager will be the person who actually holds the scissors and cuts the ribbon. You may also want to include family members and staff by inviting them to hold the ribbon and/or stand behind you so they are included in photos.
Chamber Ambassadors will be in attendance to hold the ribbon so your staff can be front and center.
Some businesses like to provide refreshments and a tour for their guests. This is not a requirement, but again, it can be a nice touch. Should you choose to provide refreshments, consider the time of day - if morning or afternoon we suggest keeping it light, as many folks will need to head back to the office.
The Chamber will post your Ribbon Cutting on our social media pages after the event.
Chamber staff will arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to your scheduled ceremony. During this time, we will connect with you to finalize details and make sure we are all set for success.
At your scheduled time, Chamber staff will introduce a representative of your business to share a few words. We ask that you please share the following information:
- Your company's name
- When and where the company was founded
- What occasion you are celebrating today (grand opening, remodel, new ownership, etc.)
- What your business does
